Strangers Meeting Strangers

Strangers Meeting Strangers is a community platform combating loneliness by facilitating genuine connections through shared interests. The design challenge was creating something welcoming while establishing trust and safety—critical when asking people to meet strangers. I chose warm corals and blues that feel inviting rather than clinical, paired with rounded typography that's inherently more approachable. The interface uses card-based layouts with generous spacing to make event discovery feel casual and browseable, like scrolling through recommendations from a friend.

I designed clear visual indicators for verified users and safety features without making them intrusive—they're there when needed but don't dominate. The aesthetic balances playfulness with credibility, encouraging that vulnerable step of reaching out.
